Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World Switch 2 Edition Preorders Are Live

Kirby is floating over to the Nintendo Switch 2 with an updated version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World Switch 2 Edition, releasing on August 28. This Switch 2 Edition of the game is more than a simple port, as it’ll come bundled with a whole new adventure called Star-Crossed World, and will feature enhanced visuals and other performance upgrades. Preorders are now open for Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World, while current Switch owners can simply pay a $20 upgrade fee to unlock the new version on Switch 2. Here’s a closer look at where to preorder the game, plus details on how Nintendo will be implementing its upgrade fees for existing owners.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World Switch 2 Edition launches August 28, but the Switch 2 itself launches June 5. Preorders for the new console are available now, alongside a long list of accessories and launch games, and you’ll find all the information in our Nintendo Switch 2 preorder guide.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World Preorder Bonuses

There are currently no preorder bonuses for Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World. If any retailer-exclusive bonuses are announced between now and August 28, we’ll update this section with more details.

If you already own Kirby and the Forgotten Land on Switch, you can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 edition for $20. Doing this will unlock all the above content, making it the cheapest choice for existing players. You’ll find the Upgrade Pack listed on the eShop, and some retailers will sell digital upgrade codes. The Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack is available for both physical and digital versions of the original game. Speaking of physical copies, you can pick up the standard Switch version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land for $60 at Amazon.

While this upgrade costs $20, many upgrade packs are only $10–including upgrades for Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. But because Kirby offers a whole new adventure and not just updated graphics and performance, its price is a bit higher. It’s a similar story for Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV Switch 2 Edition, as its upgrade costs $20 and comes with heaps of new content.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Editions are among the Switch 2’s launch day lineup, along with Mario Kart World, Street Fighter 6, and Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD. These games all launch on June 5 alongside the Switch 2. You’ll find a list of all the Switch 2 games available to preorder below, and don’t forget to check out our official Nintendo Switch 2 preorder guide, which rounds up all the games and accessories arriving later this year.
