The Nintendo Switch 2 versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are available to preorder now. These upgraded editions of two of the best Switch games will be available when the Switch 2 launches on June 5. Existing owners can purchase an upgrade from the eShop for $10 each to gain access to the Switch 2 versions, but physical copies with new Switch 2 packaging are available as well. Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild are launching alongside four new Amiibo figures based on the Champions from Tears of the Kingdom: Tulin, Yunobo, Sidon, and Riju.
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are among a handful of select Nintendo Switch games getting upgraded versions with new content on Nintendo Switch 2. Like other Switch 2 Edition games, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Editions will offer better visuals and performance than their Switch 1 versions, and will include additional features like support for the all-new Zelda Notes app, which offers daily login item bonuses, a helpful map that shows your in-game location in real time, the ability to share stats with other players online, and more.

Note that the Switch 2 Edition will not include the Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass, but you can purchase it separately for $20 from the eShop.
$80 | Releases June 5

Just like the Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Edition has enhanced visuals and Zelda Notes app support. Physical copies are available to preorder at Walmart, Target, GameStop, and Best Buy.
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom each have a much larger emphasis on inventory management than the older Zelda games, and the controls can be somewhat cumbersome at times. These are games that greatly benefit from controllers with remappable back buttons. Thankfully, the official Switch 2 Pro Controller has a pair of built-in back buttons. If you’re interested in the Switch 2 versions of these Zelda games, you may want to snag a preorder for the Switch 2 Pro Controller, too. The Switch 2 Pro Controller releases alongside the games and console on June 5.
The Legend of Zelda New Amiibo Figures

The new batch of Zelda Amiibo feature expressive poses from fan-favorites from Tears of the Kingdom. The new set includes the first four Champions Link partners up with during his quest to save Hyrule: Tulin, Yunobo, Sidon, and Riju. All four are available to preorder for $30 each, which is nearly twice the price Nintendo charged for several previous Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo figures.

It’s also worth noting that the official guidebooks for Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild are still available to purchase, and you can save big on hardcover editions at Amazon.
What are Switch 2 Edition games?
