After you join the Mages Guild in Chorrol, you’ll immediately jump into the Chorrol Recommendation quest by continuing to speak with Teekeeus. The Argonian tells you to get his recommendation, you need to confront a woman named Earana, another mage who goes against what the Mages Guild believes.

Earana is in Chorrol, and if you track the Chorrol Recommendation quest from your journal, you’ll see a red or green quest marker pop up on your compass. The green arrow indicates Earana is active and moving, while the red arrow usually means she’s sleeping. Earana stays at The Grey Mare tavern, which is located down the hill and to the left of the Mages Guild.

You can usually find Earana outside the Mages Guild in the courtyard if she’s not sleeping, so visit her there during the morning or afternoon hours. When you speak to Earana, you’ll learn that she wants you to get a very specific book called the “Fingers of the Mountain.” However, she explains that it’s imperative you don’t tell Teekeeus about the book.
