Mattel has officially revealed the new Brick Shop lineup of Hot Wheels building sets designed to give fans a new way to enjoy Hot Wheels vehicles. Similar to Lego and Mega Bloks, you’ll be snapping together hundreds of pieces as you build your own version of vehicles like the Maserati MC20, Corvette Grand Sport, and Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and they’re currently available to preorder at most major retailers ahead of their summer release.
Brick Shop sets will come in there three different series, each more premium and customizable than the last. The Speed Series ($20) is the entry-level tier. It lets you build a customizable replica of each vehicle, though you won’t find many premium flourishes. The Elite Series ($50) is more authentic and upgraded, thanks to the inclusion of metal components. Mattel says these sets “are built with maximum authenticity to faithfully recreate what makes each car unique.”
Premium Series ($120) is the most luxurious–and the most expensive. Only one model is available in this series, though all future entries in the class will feature “display-worthy details.”
Regardless of series, the Mattel Brick Shop will give you a chance to build and customize replicas of real-life vehicles and Hot Wheels originals. Featuring swappable wheels, decals, and premium design elements, they’re shaping up to be a cool collector’s item. Each set also comes with a matching 1:64 diecast metal car.
If you’d like to be among the first to add them to your collection, here’s a look at the seven models currently up for grabs.
