Welcome to the party
Microsoft is kicking off May with double-digit additions to the Game Pass library. The new wave of titles even includes three day-one releases, with the obvious headliner being Doom: The Dark Ages. The prequel to Doom (2016) looks like a trip to Hell worth taking, featuring all sorts of medieval-fantasy weapons like the new Reaver Chainshot. The FPS from id Software will arrive May 15.
Sandwiched between Doom: The Dark Ages, Game Pass members can look forward to Revenge of the Savage Planet on May 8. The sequel is one of the most-anticipated co-op games of this year. This time there’s a third-person view (instead of first-person), and developer Raccoon Logic is promising poop jokes. The third and final day-one launch for the subscription service is Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo on May 16. It’s a colorful adventure game that will see players venturing into the afterlife.
It’s not just brand-new games landing on Game Pass this month, of course. There are two titles coming to the service that are based on popular multimedia franchises: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on May 7 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed on May 8.
A couple more co-op games are joining Revenge of the Savage Planet in this batch, too. There is Warhammer: Vermintide 2 coming May 13, which takes inspiration from Left 4 Dead. Meanwhile, Firefighting Simulator: The Squad sees players teaming up to tame… you guessed it, fires.
Below is the full list of games on the way for Game Pass, including Standard-tier additions. As always, Microsoft is also removing games from the service this month, too.
