Split Fiction Sales Are Nearly Double What EA Expected So Far

Split Fiction launched earlier this year, and with 4 million sales to date, publisher EA has praised the game for exceeding its expectations. Alongside Dragon Age: The Veilguard and EA Sports FC 25, EA says that it secured a “strong finish” for Q4 in its 2025 financial year, ending on March 31, 2025.

“Q4 marked a strong finish to FY25, with broad-based momentum across the portfolio positioning the business for accelerated growth,” EA CFO Stuart Canfield said in a press release. “As we enter FY26, we remain focused on disciplined execution as we build toward a slate of groundbreaking upcoming releases.”

Split Fiction managed to reach an impressive milestone of 1 million sales in just two days after it was first released, and that figure increased to 2 million copies sold by the end of its first week. It’s worth noting that Split Fiction features mandatory co-op gameplay mechanics, mechanics, but you can let a partner join you without them owning a copy of the game and it doesn’t have any microtransactions.

Canfield noted in EA’s Q4 earnings call that Split Fiction sales are “nearly double our expectations” so far. Split Fiction will also be coming to Switch 2 next month, so those overall sales figures will likely get a boost when it releases for the new Nintendo console.

A Split Fiction movie is also in development, but game director Josef Fares (who has also directed numerous films) doesn’t sound too hopeful about its chances of actually getting made.
