It’s been a long time coming, but PlayStation 5 players can finally use Apple Pay natively when purchasing games.
As first reported by 9to5Mac, the most recent PS5 update has finally taken advantage of iOS 18, allowing for direct purchases using Apple Pay. PS5 owners have previously been able to use Apple Pay via the PlayStation App or the PS5 browser, but it’s taken over four years to get native support for the popular payment method on the console.
Now, rather than having to take any extra steps, customers can simply select Apple Pay during the checkout process on their PS5s. They will then be greeted by a QR code they can scan using their iPhone or iPad to complete the transaction.
