Krispy Kreme Announces Pac-Man Donuts, And They Look Delicious

Krispy Kreme has announced a collaboration with Bandai Namco for Pac-Man donuts to celebrate the video game franchise’s 45th anniversary. This is happening just as a new Pac-Man cookbook goes live.

The new donuts are available right now at Krispy Kreme stores across the US, and there are three varieties. The first is the Pac-Man Party donut, which is an original glazed donut with yellow buttercream-flavored icing and sprinkles, with a Pac-Man piece on top.

The Team Ghost donut, meanwhile, is an unglazed donut with chocolate cream, dipping in black icing, and decorated with a Pac-Man maze and ghost pieces. Finally, the Strawberry Power Berry donut features strawberry-flavored cream, dipped in red icing and decked out with white sprinkles and green leaf icing.

If you buy a dozen, they come with a Pac-Man box adorned with imagery from the franchise.

Krispy Kreme also announced that it will give away 45,000 original glazed donuts through May 18 between the hours of 7-9 AM and 5-7 PM local time, with a limit of one per guest per day. If shoppers collectively eat all 45,000, Krispy Kreme will give away its strawberry glazed donut in a promotion this August.

Additionally, Krispy Kreme said it will transform its donut dots into Pac-Dots now through May 14, and customers get 10 for free when they buy a dozen donuts at regular price. What’s more, on Pac-Man’s birthday, May 22, everyone get buy a dozen original glazed donuts for 25 cents when they also buy any dozen at regular price.

In other news, Krispy Kreme’s stock price tanked recently after the company announced plans to halt its expansion plans with McDonald’s.

The next Pac-Man game is Shadow Labyrinth, a re-imagining of the franchise’s core concepts. It releases this July.
