Stardew Valley features a number of interesting NPCs that populate the town and nearby places you can visit. While there are some NPCs who can’t receive gifts, this list only consists of characters you can give gifts to. The reason for that is simple: Only the characters you can give gifts to are those with whom you have a friendship meter. That also includes your potential marriage candidates, whom you will need to become close friends with before making a move.

This list, which is in alphabetical order, includes every character, some of their usual hangout spots, and a list of their liked and loved gifts. We will note when a character happens to dislike what the game otherwise considers a universally liked gift. A tip: If you are focused on raising a single character’s friendship level as fast as possible, just stockpile their favorite items. They don’t expire, and some loved gifts can be harder to find depending on the time of year.

When it comes to gift giving, it’s important to remember that giving a gift someone likes gives 45 friendship points, while a loved gift gives 80 points. You can only give two gifts to each character per week, and only once per day, so the better you are at giving gifts, the faster you are at making friends. A third gift can be given during a week if it is the character’s birthday, which increases the impact of a given gift. Character’s birthdays are listed on each slide.
