Witcher 4 Coming To State Of Unreal Event Tomorrow, Here’s How To Watch

The Witcher 4 may still be years away from releasing, but developer CD Projekt Red might have new information to share about the game as soon as June 3.

The developer has confirmed it’s attending Epic’s upcoming State of Unreal event on June 3. The developer said it will showcase “some of the innovative technology & features that will power The Witcher 4, and beyond.”

The State of Unreal event takes place on June 3 as part of the Unreal Fest. The event begins at 6:30 AM PT / 9:30 AM ET and will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch. It’s not immediately clear when, however, The Witcher 4 may show up.

Game director Sebastian Kalemba reacted to the announcement, writing, “Wind is howling.”

As announced previously, CD Projekt and Epic signed a multi-year deal for the Polish studio to use Epic’s game-development tools to build its future games. The company previously used its own RedEngine.

Epic’s Unreal technology is already hugely popular–and lucrative–and it continues to add new partners. In addition to CD Projekt, Microsoft’s newly renamed Halo Studios is using Unreal Engine, while Riot’s Valorant just announced plans to switch to Unreal Engine 5.

The original Witcher trilogy focused on the monster-hunter Geralt, but the new trilogy–or at least The Witcher 4–tells its story from Ciri’s perspective. The Witcher 4 isn’t expected to launch anytime soon, but when it does, it’ll kick off a six-year window for when CD Projekt Red plans to release The Witcher 5 and 6.

The Witcher 4 has gigantic shoes to fill, as The Witcher 3 is one of the top 10 best-selling video games in history, shifting more than 60 million units and driving more than $600 million in revenue.
