Nintendo Switch 2 “Out Of Stock” Store Displays Just Rub It In

With the Switch 2 arriving in mere days, potential buyers might want to keep their eyes open for certain signs–specifically, signs indicating that their local store is all out of stock of the new console. To rub in the FOMO, some shops in the US might be displaying special signs to indicate when their Switch 2 inventory has been exhausted.

Reddit user Alternative_Basket19 posted a photo online (via VGC) of one of these signs that they claim was sent to the store they work at, ahead of what is expected to be a busy launch weekend for the Switch successor. “Got these signs in from Nintendo, they got jokes,” Alternative_Basket19 wrote.

The Switch 2 officially launches on June 5, and Nintendo is predicting that it’ll sell 15 million units by the end of March 2026. Some Switch 2 consoles have already made their way into the hands of people and several online retailers have already sold out of their Switch 2 inventory during preorder rounds, and the console will be highly sought after at launch.

As the release date draws closer, Nintendo has been revealing more details on the console. In a handy bit of advice, the company has urged buyers to not peel off the protective film on the screen and it has revealed more details on how games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will run more smoothly on the Switch 2.
