Tamagotchi Plaza Is Getting Switch 2 Exclusive Content

Following the launch of Switch 2, Bandai Namco has announced that it’s bringing Tamagotchi Plaza to Nintendo’s latest system near the end of the month. Players who purchase Tamagotchi Plaza’s Switch 2 Edition or purchases the upgrade will get exclusive content beyond the standard game on Switch.

Bandai Namco has shared a video preview of the Switch 2-exclusive content, including the three additional shops, which brings the game’s total to 15. One of the new shops is a sushi joint that allows players to use the Joy-Con 2’s mouse controls to feed their guests. Those same features can be used the Shuriken Shop when showing off your throwing star skills. They can also be combined in the Sushi Shuriken Shop, which is exactly what it sounds like.

The story behind the game gives players the chance to set up multiple shops and serve their eager customers. After the Great Gotchi King brings Tamagotchi Fest to Tamahiko Town, players are tasked with helping Prince Tamahiko prepare the city by adding tea shops and others that enhance the town’s reputation. A handful of the shops can include co-op minigames.

As long as Tamagotchi Plaza Switch owners have a Switch 2, they don’t need to buy a brand new game. They can purchase the Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade pack to access the newly released exclusive content. The price for that upgrade hasn’t been shared yet.

Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be released alongside the standard Switch edition on June 27. Both are also compatible with the Tamagotchi Uni.
