Nintendo’s new and upcoming Switch 2 games are now available to buy from Amazon for the first time. Store pages for Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, and more Nintendo-published exclusives were quietly added to Amazon’s US storefront over the weekend. Amazon’s Nintendo store page remains out of date, but the game listings signal the end of a more than year-long disagreement that resulted in Amazon removing all first-party Nintendo games and hardware from its inventory.
Nintendo Switch 2 Games at Amazon
Along with Mario Kart World, Amazon has store pages for the Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Though published by Square Enix, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD, a Switch 2-exclusive remaster of the hit 3DS RPG, had been absent from Amazon until now, too.
Donkey Kong Bananza is available to preorder at Amazon for $70 ahead of its July 17 release. Switch 2 owners can also preorder Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV and Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart Bundle is also listed on Amazon, though it’s currently unavailable for purchase. We haven’t seen Switch 2 first-party accessories on Amazon yet, but we’ll update this story if and when gear like the Switch 2 Pro Controller and Switch 2 Camera are available.
Amazon is also carrying Nintendo’s most-recent games for the original Switch, including Xenoblade Chronicles X and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, both of which launched earlier this year. Donkey Kong’s listing defaults to a third-party seller with a lower price, but in this case, that seller happens to be the Amazon-owned discount shop Woot. DKC Returns is $45 (was $60) from Woot, and Mario & Luigi: Brothership, another newly listed game, is $50 (was $60) from Woot. It’s possible more games from Nintendo’s back catalog will be available to purchase at Amazon soon.
Nintendo Switch Games at Amazon
A few of the new Legend of Zelda and Street Fighter 6 Amiibo figures are available to preorder from Amazon. The new Amiibo released on June 5, so the June 23 release date specifically applies to Amazon. Similarly, a few of the games above are listed as “temporarily out of stock,” as Amazon is clearly still working to stock its Nintendo inventory.
Neither Amazon nor Nintendo has ever commented on what led to the removal of all first-party Nintendo products from sale at the online retail giant. Amazon stopped selling Nintendo Switch games in early 2024. Before long, all of Nintendo’s most popular games, official accessories, and even Switch Online subscriptions were removed from sale. This also happened at Walmart around the same time, but Walmart and Nintendo resolved their differences before the holiday season.
