Lord Of The Rings Tolkien Illustrated Book Is Only $30 At Amazon Right Now

The Tolkien Illustrated Edition of The Lord of the Rings is still on sale for its Prime Day price at Amazon. Fans can snag the $90 edition of the legendary fantasy novel for only $30. This deal was exclusive to Prime members during last week’s sale, but now anyone can take advantage of this offer. The 1,248-page single-volume hardcover includes dozens of illustrations by the author as well as an assortment of premium flourishes like sprayed edges and removable maps.

The Deluxe Editions of The Silmarillion Illustrated and The Hobbit Illustrated are also on sale for their Prime Day prices. These deals had actually disappeared shortly after the sale started, so we can’t imagine they will stick around for long. The Hobbit Deluxe Special Edition is $77.57 (was $195) and The Silmarillion Deluxe Special Edition is only $55.34 (was $190).

There’s no shortage of display-worthy editions of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, and soon fans will have another option. Releasing October 14 as the seventh box set in publisher William Morrow’s gorgeous series of Tolkien hardcover collections, The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings Illustrated is available to preorder for $139.50 (was $150) at Amazon. It contains the Centenary Edition of The Lord of the Rings in three volumes and the 60th Anniversary Edition of The Hobbit. The reversible dust jackets and display box feature scenic landscape art by Alan Lee. Watercolor illustrations by Lee are included throughout all four volumes.

As mentioned, this will be the seventh Tolkien box set with this aesthetic published by William Morrow. Last year, the publisher released four History of Middle-earth Box Sets. Three of these sets are on sale for extremely good prices right now. In June, Tolkien Myths and Legends hit store shelves, and next month fans can get an eye-catching new edition of The Great Tales of Middle-earth.

J.R.R. Tolkien Hardcover Book Box Set Series (2024-25)

The new Lord of the Rings Illustrated box set is arriving almost exactly a year after the remastered edition of the 1992 Lord of the Rings box set. The Lord of the Rings Deluxe Illustrated retailed for $325 at launch, but it’s now available for $179. This version carries a more understated look, with a custom cloth board slipcase and quarterbound blue leather bindings. Unlike the upcoming set, this one does not include The Hobbit.
