Battlefield 6 Release Date Confirmed For October, Multiplayer Trailer Shows Off Chaos And Destruction

As part of the Battlefield 6 reveal event today, EA and Battlefield Studios released a multiplayer trailer for the game, and it delivered the goods. The conclusion of the core part of the stream also confirmed Battlefield 6’s release date is set for October 10.

The trailer was set to a version of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” the trailer shows off more of what to expect from the multiplayer mode, which is the bread and butter of the FPS series.

The first thing to know about Battlefield 6’s multiplayer is that the traditional Battlefield classes are back, following the changes from Battlefield 2042. That mean you can suit up as an Assault, Medic, Support and Recon player, with class-specific weapons and gadgets. Also new in Battlefield 6 is a “hitch a ride” system where an entire squad of players can ride vehicles together, even if there aren’t enough seats.

There will be nine maps at launch, including a remake of Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3. In terms of modes, all the classics are back, including Rush and Conquest, along with a big new one called Escalation. Team Deathmatch and King of the Hill are in the game, too.

More maps and modes will be released over time as part of the game’s live-service approach.
