Legend Of Zelda Collector’s Chess Set Restocked At Amazon

The Legend of Zelda: Collector’s Edition Chess Set is back in stock for $45 at Amazon on August 1. At the time of writing, the store page shows only 13 units remain, but yesterday that number was down to two, so it appears Amazon is replenishing its inventory in small batches. This new edition of Zelda-themed chess launched out of nowhere in early June and promptly sold out; it has largely remained out of stock since its release. Officially licensed by Nintendo, the set features gold and black figurines based on Hyrule’s biggest heroes and villains. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this sell out fast again.

If Amazon sells out, Barnes & Noble has units available for the same price. Meanwhile, scalpers on Walmart’s marketplace are trying to get $60-$80 for the set.

The Op Games has also made various editions of The Legend of Zelda Monopoly over the years. Unfortunately, much like the original Zelda chess set, The Legend of Zelda Monopoly is out of print and tends to sell for high prices. At the moment, Monopoly: The Legend of Zelda Collector’s Edition is listed for $110 at Amazon via a reseller (fulfilled by Amazon). The game pieces in this version are all based on iconic weapons and symbols, like Link’s shield, the Ocarina of Time, and the Triforce.

For more themed chess sets based on popular gaming and entertainment franchises, The Noble Collection has a variety of impressive options, including The Lord of the Rings Chess Set for $45. You can choose to command the armies of good with pieces led by Galadriel, Aragorn, Frodo, and Gandalf the Grey, or if you’re feeling evil, you can unleash the forces of Sauron, who is allied with Gollum, the Nazgul, and Saruman on the chessboard. In addition to the sculpted pieces, this set also comes with two branded storage bags to keep everything in.

Here’s a list of a handful of standout chess sets in The Noble Collection, including a Wizard Chess Set from the world of Harry Potter and a wild-looking Tridimensional Chess Set from Star Trek.
