Microsoft has yet to release its full lineup for Game Pass in August, but a few titles have been revealed. And the final full month of summer is already shaping up nicely for subscribers.
The latest addition to be announced is Herdling, an indie game developed by Okomotive and published by Panic. This title puts players in control of a shepherd for some enigmatic creatures. The goal is to care for these mysterious beasts and protect them from predators while making a perilous journey to the mountains where a mystery awaits at the summit.
Before Herdling arrives, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced is joining Game Pass on August 12. Players who already own Hellblade 2 on Xbox Series X|S and PC will receive the enhanced version as a free update. While the game will be available for PlayStation 5 owners for the first time, Game Pass subscribers can still enjoy Hellblade 2’s new perks, including an enhanced photo mode, developer commentary, and a performance mode that can push the gameplay to 60fps. Unfortunately, performance mode isn’t available on Xbox Series S.
So far, the biggest Game Pass release of the month appears to be Gears of War: Reloaded, a full remake of the game that kicked off the franchise nearly two decades ago. Like Hellblade II, Reloaded is a multiplatform release that will hit PS5 as well, but Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers will get to enjoy it as a day-one release on August 26.
