Amplitude Studios has released a time-limited demo for Endless Legend 2, the long-awaited follow-up to its 4X fantasy strategy game.

The demo’s release on Steam follows the developer’s decision to delay the game’s early access launch from August 7 to September 22. The demo is only available until August 18 while the Amplitude team notes that “this is a limited version of the game.”

The Endless Legend 2 demo will offer the following playable content:

• Choice of two playable factions: the Kin of Sheredyn and the Aspects
• Opportunity to face the Necrophage
• Around 90 turns
• Two Tidefalls that shape the world
• 15 minor factions you can encounter

Reasons given for the delay early access launch had included extra time to improve onboarding, polish for the early-game experience, localization, and balance. The developer has also encourages players of the demo to share feedback, including the tutorial, any bugs, as well as the localization of different languages.

Endless Legend 2 was announced earlier this year, just over a decade after the release of its predecessor. Set in the oceanic world of Saiadha, you will be able to take control of wildly varied factions waging wars that span the planet, though cataclysmic events will also change the world as time goes on. It is Amplitude Studio’s first game following its independence from Sega at the end of 2024.
