Like previous months, the Xbox Game Pass library is being updated in August 2025 with new titles that’ll be released in two waves. The first wave of games for the month included Assassin’s Creed Mirage and 9 Kings, and Microsoft has confirmed what players can expect in the second wave of new arrivals.
The biggest game here is the day-one release of Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the Xbox 360 cover-based shooter. This version of the game has been overhauled graphically, and it’ll have 4K textures, revamped lighting and shadows, and 120 FPS in multiplayer modes.
Other releases to look forward to this month include Persona 4: Golden and Void/Breaker is a day-one release for PC Game Pass subscribers. If you’re in the mood for some fantasy fun, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be available starting August 28.
Several games will also be removed from Game Pass on August 31, so you only have a few days left to play Borderlands 3, Sea of Stars, and several other titles. If you’d like to see what else is worth downloading, you can also check out our list of the best Xbox Game Pass games to play in 2025.
