World Of Tanks 2.0 Adds Tier XI Tanks, New PvE Campaign, And More Next Month

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Wargaming unveiled World of Tanks 2.0, a massive update to the 15-year-old free-to-play tank battle game, which will launch on September 3. The 2.0 patch is described as the “most ambitious update in World of Tanks history” and will add a highly-requested feature: Tier XI vehicles are finally coming to the game.

16 new Tier XI vehicles will be added to the game on the 2.0 patch’s launch day, with each offering unique gameplay mechanics and a new progression system specific to Tier XI. More vehicles at this new top tier will be coming in the future, according to the official announcement.

Tier XI isn’t the only major addition coming to WoT in the 2.0 patch; the update will also introduce a PvE story-driven campaign mode to introduce the Tier XI tanks, which will be set on a “never-before-seen” map. The hangar will also receive a facelift, as players will now be able to assemble tanks and equip them with weapons and armor on the fly from right within the redesigned hangar area.

A list of notable changes coming in the World of Tanks 2.0 update is below:

  • Tier XI tanks, as well as a new PvE event to introduce them
  • Tank Rebalance, with over 350 vehicles being reworked.
  • Hangar updates
  • Enhanced UI and matchmaking systems
  • A new map, Nordskar, set in Scandinavia
  • Upgraded sound effects

World of Tanks is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. The 2.0 patch will be released as a free download on September 3.
