Kirby Air Riders is the long-awaited sequel to one of the GameCube’s most beloved titles, and it’s racing onto the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20. And just like the original, the sequel is all about racing and battling with Kirby or some of his friends and foes. Except this time, there are far more characters for players to choose from than ever before.

As of right now, Nintendo has revealed a total of 12 characters for Kirby Air Riders, including returning favorites like Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight. Most of these new entries to the lineup are well-known baddies from Kirby games, though there are a few friendly surprises sprinkled in. Either way, if you’re a Kirby enthusiast, you’ll probably recognize most of the racers, which may make it tough to decide who you want to play with!

Luckily, Nintendo has made it easier to make that decision by giving each character a special ability to use during races. These abilities range from offensive onslaughts to defensive moves to massive speed boosts. So while any character is likely to be a viable choice, picking the racer that matches your playstyle will almost certainly improve your chances at victory.

Judging by a shadowy tease at the end of the Kirby Air Riders Direct, there are likely to be some special characters Nintendo is saving for the full release, so we’ll update this roster when we dive in for ourselves this November.
