Gears of War: Reloaded launched this week with a few issues. Thankfully, developer The Coalition is on the case, and fixes have already been deployed or are coming soon.
In a social media post, the studio said it has resolved an issue that blocked players from accessing the Adam Fenix and Anya Stroud skins they got for preordering the game on Xbox and Steam. The developer has also fixed an issue with Steam crashes, and an update is rolling out today, August 28, to address it.
The developer said it took some time to prepare and release this fix because it had to be tested first. The patch rollout might briefly interrupt services, Microsoft warned.
As of August 28, the Steam reviews for Gears of War: Reloaded remain “mixed.” The game peaked at around 4,800 concurrent players on launch day.
Gears of War: Reloaded launched on August 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A remaster of the original, it represents the franchise’s debut on PlayStation after the series was exclusive to Xbox on console for 19 years. August 26 was also the day a PlayStation-published game, Helldivers 2, came to Xbox.
The next Gears of War game, Gears of War: E-Day, launches in 2026. For more on Reloaded, be sure to check out GameSpot’s breakdown of where to find all the COG tags.
