The world of searching for anything on the internet continues to change, but a newly introduced Google feature allows you to have some new degree of influence over the results you see.
Preferred Sources is a new option that allows you to designate certain websites as just that: The sites you’d like to see more often. Mark a site as preferred, and its recent coverage will then be more frequently displayed in the Top Stories section, as well as in a section just below labeled “From your sources.” Doing this won’t stop other sites from appearing, and you’re free to modify your list of preferred sources anytime.
If you’re reading this, you hopefully enjoy GameSpot’s coverage of the gaming world and would like to see more of it, whether it’s a review, deals, recommendations for great games you may not have heard of, or countless thousands of words explaining what the heck Elden Ring is about.
Should that be the case, we’d love to have you add GameSpot as a preferred source, which will help you to see the latest and greatest we have to offer, and help us to keep producing the kinds of things we love to bring to you. Doing so is quick and easy; either click this link and check the box next to GameSpot or do the following:
- Search for something in the news
- Click the icon next to “Top stories”
- Search for “GameSpot” and check the box next to gamespot.com
You can return to the same place (or go here) to add or remove additional sites to your preferred sources list. This can help you cater results to your liking, though keep in mind that the regular links elsewhere on the page aren’t influenced by these preferences.
