Pride Month isn’t here quite yet, but Sirius Dice is starting the celebration early with the release of a new Pride-themed set of Dungeons & Dragons dice in collaboration with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast.
Sirius describes the colorful new Dungeons & Dragons Progress Pride Dice Set as a “celebration of inclusivity, identity, and the joy of storytelling.” The dice contain Daniel Quasar’s Progress Pride Flag pattern encased in clear resin, and each die in the set has its numbers painted a different color, creating a rainbow effect when the set is lined up together.
The entire set was designed by Quasar, who picked out each ink shade to create a dice set that would accurately reflect both the Progress Pride Flag itself and the full spectrum of the rainbow. The Progress Pride Dice set is a round-edged version of Sirius Dice’s original limited-edition sharp-edged Progress Pride dice, which were released in June 2024 to celebrate Pride Month.
The round-edged Progress Pride Dice set retails for $20 USD–a good bit cheaper than the $40 limited-edition sharp-edged 2024 set. Unlike that set, the new Progress Pride Dice are available for purchase in “Friendly Local Game Stores” nationwide, in addition to the Sirius Dice website. They can also be purchased directly from The Progress Initiative.
But this dice set isn’t just about rolling in rainbow-filled style–they also contribute to a good cause. For every set sold, $5 will be donated to The Trevor Project, a non-profit that supports LGBTQ+ youth in crisis. Plus, they seem to be here to stay–unlike last year’s sharp-edged variant, the Sirius Dice site does not list the round-edged Progress Pride Dice Set as limited edition or limited stock (though at the time of writing, they are currently sold out, but still available via The Progress Initiative site and local game stores).
If you’re looking for an excuse to try out your new dice, the recent Dungeons & Dragons 2024 Edition releases are worth checking out while they’re on sale at Amazon. There are new 2024 editions of the Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and Monster Manual that introduce new gameplay elements and tweaked rules to the tabletop RPG. However, they’re also backward compatible with 5th Edition rulebooks, adventure modules, expansions, and third-party 5E supplements–meaning your existing 5E adventures and characters can continue into the new edition. Along with the trio of new Core Rulebooks, there are also D&D 2024 Edition gameplay materials like updated Character Sheets and a new Dungeon Master Screen. Check out all the new D&D 2024 Edition releases below.
