Doom: The Dark Ages looks like it’ll be one of the biggest games of May 2025, and there’s a new trailer to show off how you’ll reduce the armies of hell to single-digit numbers in it. The trailer also shows off some of the story for the game, which serves as a prequel to 2016’s Doom.
One of the fascinating things about Doom is that its protagonist has remained the same throughout the original trilogy of Doom games through to the 2016 game and its sequel, Doom Eternal, but there is a period of his history that has remained unexplored. Doom: The Dark Ages looks like it’ll fill in the gaps, as the trailer provides a glimpse of Argent D’Nur and how the Doom Slayer–who was enslaved by the Maykrs after his trip to Hell–becomes a living legend on that world.
