To start Cheydinal Recommendation, go to the Mages Guild in Cheydinhal, which is located on the southeastern side of the city, right next to the Fighters Guild and the Mach-Na’s Books shop. Inside the guild, you need to find and speak to a man named Falcar, who is the guild leader. Falcar can be difficult to find sometimes, but his room is located in the basement, so sometimes you’ll catch him walking up or down those stairs. Most of the time, Falcar can be found in either one of the ground-level side rooms.

When you speak to Falcar, he’ll be quite annoyed that you’re asking him for a recommendation. Reluctantly, though, he gives you the task of retrieving an item called the Ring of Burden, which another guild member supposedly threw down a well. You can receive a key to the well by speaking to Deetsan, a Mages Guild Argonian who’s usually near Falcar.

However, Deetsan won’t agree to speak to you until Falcar is not nearby. You can wait until nighttime to get Deetsan alone and speak to her. The Argonian will give you a key to the well, but warns you that Falcar might be giving you this task to get rid of you. Deetsan also gives you a Buoyancy scroll, which you’ll want to use once inside the well.
