A Severance Video Game? The Show’s Producer And Star Think It Would Be A Good Idea

Severance, the popular psychological thriller produced and sometimes directed by Ben Stiller, would make for a good video game. That’s according to Stiller and Severance star Adam Scott.

Stiller told Variety that it would “be great to have a Severance video game,” while Scott concurred. “I think it lends itself to one,” he said.

No game based on Severance has been announced, however, or even teased, but there is an official minigame based on Severance you can play online. You can also play a video game called Severance in the form of 2001’s action-adventure game Severance: Blades of Darkness, but it has nothing to do with the Apple TV+ show.

Beyond a potential video game, Stiller said there are “nascent” ideas percolating for potential spin-offs–there are two “specific ideas” for such spin-offs that Stiller is thinking about. Beyond those, Stiller said there could be Severance merch in the form of official Lumon keyboards, but only if they feel “bespoke and specific to the show.”

Severance Season 2 debuted on Apple TV+ in January 2025 to rave reviews and wrapped up in March. A third season is in the works now, but there is no release date yet.

The show follows employees at Lumon Industries, a biotech company that requires its workers to undergo a “severance” process, splitting their at-work and home lives. Of course, things go poorly and everything gets messy.

The show’s cast includes Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette.
