PlayStation’s new Death Stranding 2 Limited Edition DualSense Controller is in stock ahead of its June 26 release. While you might not get release-day delivery at this point, preorders placed today (June 24) are expected to arrive within a few business days. Like several other recent PS5 controllers themed around big PlayStation games, the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach DualSense is exclusive to PlayStation Direct. Death Stranding 2’s Collector’s Edition, which is available now thanks to early access, is also exclusive to PS Direct and is in stock, too.
If previous special-edition PS5 controllers are any indication, the Death Stranding 2-themed model is unlikely to be restocked once it sells out. Limited Edition DualSense Controllers retail for $85, slightly higher than the $75-$80 price points for the standard models. PS Direct offers free shipping for all orders.
$85 | Releases June 26
PlayStation worked closely with Kojima Productions to design the controller, resulting in a device with a sleek black finish and insignia based on the fictional Drawbridge company that appears in the sequel. You’ll also find the motto of Drawbridge on the touchpad: “Both stick and rope, to protect and connect. Together, from tomorrow.”
The orange accents only appear on the touchpad and front grips. The back of the controller has Death Stranding 2’s title card in a font and format that looks very similar to the game’s cover art.
Outside of the unique theme, this is a standard DualSense Controller for PS5, PC, Mac, and Mobile. It has nuanced haptic feedback, immersive adaptive triggers, and a built-in speaker. You can sync the controller to PC and mobile devices via Bluetooth, and select PC games can even take advantage of the controller’s awesome haptics and trigger tech. The only caveat here is that you typically need to connect the controller to your PC with a USB-C cable to use those features.

If you haven’t preordered a copy of the game itself, check out our Death Stranding 2: On the Beach preorder guide. As mentioned, the Collector’s Edition–and the Digital Deluxe Edition–have 48-hour early access and are available now. The $70 standard edition releases this Thursday, June 26, the same day as the new controller.
Kojima fans should also take a look at the upcoming official art book for Death Stranding 2. The Art of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is available to preorder at Amazon and releases November 11. Amazon is even offering a nice 20% discount, dropping the price to $40 (was $50).
More DualSense Limited Edition Controllers
While most of Sony’s themed controllers tend to sell out very fast, two others are currently in stock. The Fortnite-themed model with a chaotic graffiti design released last holiday season and remains available at PlayStation Direct and Target. The Last of Us fans can snag the $85 DualSense inspired by the Naughty Dog series at Best Buy. Just be aware that restocks for this one tend to disappear fast.
