Fortnite OG has had its ups and downs since it was introduced at the start of Chapter 6, but with Season 5 we’re now at the part of this throwback mode where things start to get interesting. This is the season that introduced staple movement items like the Shockwave Grenade and the Grappler, gave us our first real vehicles with golf carts, and added several of Fortnite’s most beloved old battle pass skins.
With the previous OG passes largely remixing old shop skins instead of battle pass ones, there was concern that Season 5 might miss out on new versions of these exclusive skins that new players can never earn. But the Season 5 OG pass, out now for 1000 V-Bucks, is a banger that includes three remixes of skins from the original Season 5 battle pass: Drift, Sun Strider, and Redline.
Drift, of course, is one of Fortnite’s most enduringly popular skins, having been remixed or mashed up eight times now, and the new Riftreaver Drift skin is the skin at the pinnacle of the OG Pass. In addition to the new Drift, we’ve got Redline Racer–a new variation of the biker Redline–and Tide Strider, a re-do of the lifeguard skin Sun Strider. Redline Racer will instantly unlock when you purchase the pass with V-Bucks or via Fortnite Crew.
On top of the skins themselves, the Season 5 OG Pass includes 40+ other cosmetics and accessories that go with them, along with additional style options for the skins. The new OG Pass will end on October 3, so you’ve got just under two months to grind out the levels you’ll need to collect all this stuff. The new OG Pass is far from the only new thing in Fortnite OG with the Season 5 update. For more on what to expect when you dive into the new/old season, check out our rundowns of the map changes and new weapons and loot in Season 5.
