“Is the new Battlefield kinda hitting for anyone else, or was the bar so low I’m just grateful? I’m really rooting for the former over the latter,” he said.
It’s no secret that Battlefield 2042 underwhelmed fans, and it also didn’t sell up to expectations for EA (despite being the No. 5 best-selling game overall in the US in 2021). Some top Battlefield leaders left or were replaced and EA created a new development pipeline for Battlefield 6.
The feedback to the Battlefield 6 open beta has been largely positive, though players have expressed some issues and concerns around the lack of a proper server browser, maps being too small, and other things. EA has said it will pore over the feedback and make changes to the full game for launch–in fact, the company has already outlined some changes coming for launch in October.
Samoa Joe is a big-time gamer. He stars in the Peacock series Twisted Metal, based on the game, as Sweet Tooth. He plays the character’s physical form, while Will Arnett voices him. Samoa Joe previously told GameSpot that he has a “gross” Steam backlog.
The Battlefield 6 open beta returns for a second weekend on August 14, and EA is adding more maps and modes. For more, check out GameSpot’s Battlefield 6 open beta breakdown.
