PS5 Price Hikes Announced For The US, Every System Going Up By $50

Sony is raising PS5 prices, with every system going up by $50. The company said it is continuing to “navigate a challenging economic environment” and will pass the cost on to consumers in the form of higher prices. The new prices go into effect on August 21.

The new prices can be seen below:

  • PlayStation 5 – $500 $550
  • PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $450 $500
  • PlayStation 5 Pro –$700 $750

The price points for PS5 accessories are not changing, Sony said, adding that the PS5 console price hikes apply only to the US market. Other markets saw PS5 console price hikes earlier this year.

Analyst Daniel Ahmad said Sony is raising prices against the backdrop of higher tariff rates on countries where the PS5 is produced, including China (30%), Japan (15%), Vietnam (20%), and Malaysia (19%).
