Bandai Namco has announced a new mode called Deep of Night for Elden Ring Nightreign. Set to arrive September 11, it’s meant to offer a more challenging experience for veteran players with stronger enemies to face.
Deep of Night was officially revealed on the Bandai Namco website, after it was datamined as a possible ranked mode for Elden Ring Nightreign earlier this month. The mode will see wins and losses “affecting the depth” of players in this high-difficulty mode. The post challenges people to beat Depth 3, while specifying that the fourth and fifth levels are actually an “endless battle for those seeking even greater thrills.”

Now Playing: I Was Wrong About Elden Ring: Nightreign…
Additional elements that look unique to the new difficulty mode include the inability to pick a target Nightlord and special items named Depths Relics. Weapons will also be a bit different, possessing multiple additional–and detrimental–effects.
In July, Elden Ring Nightreign finally received a two-player mode for the co-op action-RPG. After launching in late May, the game has already surpassed 5 million shipments. Meanwhile, there is an Elden Ring movie in the works at A24. Annihilation filmmaker Alex Garland will direct the adaptation, and he is very familiar with the game.
