Metal Gear Solid Actress Marks Delta Launch In Full Cosplay

This week, Konami released Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the modern remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. To mark the event, Lori Alan–who voiced The Boss in both games–has shared a photo of herself in full cosplay as the character she first portrayed in 2004.

The original recordings for Alan and the rest of the MSG 3 voice cast were retained for Metal Gear Solid Delta, although Naked Snake actor David Hayter recently expressed his desire for a second chance to play the role. Hayter was also the original voice of Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 4.

Voice actor Brett Driver also shared a post about his role in Metal Gear Solid Delta, which called upon the actor to provide the mo-cap for Naked Snake’s facial performance. Hayter replied to the original post and stated, “I’m thinking you nailed it, kid. Nicely done.”

MGS Delta producer Noriaki Okamura has stated that he hopes franchise creator Hideo Kojima will see how “respectful” the new game is to the original. Kojima left Konami in 2015, and recently said he will not play Delta. Kojima is also working on his own MGS-like game called Physint, which is still in a conceptual phase.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is out now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. GameSpot’s review of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater gave it a 9. Later this fall, Konami will add a new online multiplayer mode to Delta called Fox Hunt. However, it won’t support cross-play.
